Called to Lead, Empowered to Serve

In Kenya, I met a 16-year-old Pathfinder named Daniel. He led his club with confidence, despite having few resources. I asked him what kept him going, and he said, “I believe God has called me to lead, not to be famous, but to serve.” That moment stuck with me.

Around the world, from Brazil to Botswana, I’ve seen youth rise into leadership not because of their titles, but because of their servant hearts. Being called to lead isn’t about being the loudest voice, it’s about being the first to kneel and help. When God calls you, He equips you. You are called to lead and empowered to serve.

You’re In It!

At a Youth Congress in the Philippines, I asked a group of young people if they thought Jesus would pick them for His team. Many hesitated. One girl whispered, “I’m not good enough.” I smiled and told her, “You’re exactly who He would choose.”

Jesus picked fishermen, tax collectors, and dreamers. He still chooses youth today, despite doubts, past mistakes, or lack of experience. I’ve seen it over and over on mission trips and Camporees, when young people say yes, miracles happen. Don’t wait to be perfect, Jesus already called you. You’re on His dream team.

From Camporee to Calling, Live the Mission!

I’ll never forget a Camporee in North-America where a boy from New York approached me after an altar call. He said, “Peralta, I want to become a missionary. I think God spoke to me this morning.” His face was glowing.

Camporees are more than fun, they’re launching pads for calling. I’ve seen hundreds dedicate their lives to Christ during these gatherings. Some have gone on to become pastors, teachers, and doctors serving their communities. If you felt God nudge your heart at a Camporee, don’t ignore it. That may have been your call. Live the mission.

You Were Born for This Generation, Shine Bright

In Germany, after a youth symposium, a girl shared her testimony of overcoming bullying and depression through Christ. She said,

“I thought I was born in the wrong time. But now I know I’m here for a reason.” I told her, “Exactly. This generation needs your light.”

You’re not an accident or a placeholder in history. God placed you here, right now, for a reason. This world may feel dark, but you were born to shine. Whether through music, service, or kindness, your light matters. Don’t dim it. You were born for this generation, shine bright.
